Employment Law for Recruiters - 2 hours
The Equality Act 2010 prohibits discrimination during the recruitment process. Learn how to avoid discrimination when preparing job descriptions, interviewing, testing and selecting your successful job applicant. We’ll also cover positive discrimination and how you can legally take steps to increase workforce diversity.
Pre-employment Checks - 3 hours
This module covers in detail how to correctly complete Right to Work checks, ensuring your company reduces any risk of non-compliance. Delegates will learn who can and cannot work in the UK; how to carry out a Right to Work check and appropriate documentation required; how to deal with different categories of workers; and how to identify fraudulent identity documents.
Health and Disability - 2 hours
Everyone is familiar with the requirement to make reasonable adjustments for disabled job applicants and employees. But does your team know what is ‘reasonable’, an ‘adjustment’ and the meaning of ‘disabled’? An in-depth look at when and how to make adjustments. We’ll also be looking what questions you can ask about health during the recruitment process.
Recruitment Options - 1 hour
Do you know what sort of contracts you should be using, and when? There are lots of options from fixed-term, consultancy to zero hours employment relationships. Make sure your team are always advising the business on the most suitable contract. Find out the pros and cons of each type of contract.

Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults - 45 minutes
Does your business have contact with children and vulnerable adults? Find out what the law says about working in this environment and your obligations to carry out DBS checks on relevant staff pre-employment.
Agency Workers - 1 hour
Is your team responsible for managing the relationship with recruitment agencies and agency workers? Find out what the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 require your business to have in place.
GDPR - 2 hours +
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a new EU regulation that will come into force on 25 May 2018. It will strengthen the current rules under the Data Protection Act (1998) by introducing new obligations for organisations and rights for individuals. These changes will impact how HR and recruiters process candidate data. It is therefore essential that recruiters familiarise themselves with these changes and begin preparing.
