By using current case studies and advanced techniques, Omni’s EDI training programmes enable leadership teams to foster an inclusive environment within the workplace helping to retain and develop diverse talent.
Omni’s Active Bystander training is essential for organisations committed to creating a positive workplace culture, promoting inclusion, and addressing harmful behaviours.
Our programme also integrates the latest UK legislation on workplace sexual harassment, which emphasises the employer’s responsibility to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all employees.
This training programme not only fosters a culture of accountability and respect but also supports compliance with workplace safety laws, including recent UK legislation on sexual harassment.
By equipping employees with the tools to intervene effectively, organisations can create safer, more inclusive environments, enhance employee trust and engagement, and mitigate risks to their reputation and workforce well-being; along with encouraging accountability for all along with a sense of collective responsibility.
The new regulation on workplace sexual harassment in the UK is the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023. This legislation, which came into effect on 26 October 2024, introduces a proactive duty on employers to take “reasonable steps” to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. It represents a shift from a reactive approach to prevention-focused measures.
Employers are now required to conduct regular risk assessments, implement appropriate training, and ensure policies and workplace cultures support the prevention of harassment. Failure to meet this duty could result in compensation uplifts of up to 25% in tribunal claims related to harassment
Omni’s Active Bystander Training equips employees with the skills to recognise and address inappropriate behaviours such as racism, bullying, and harassment. Through practical discussions, participants will learn how to identify toxic behaviours, understand what constitutes harassment, and build confidence in intervening effectively. Empowering individuals to act fosters a culture of accountability and respect – where everyone has a role in shaping a workplace where harassment has no place.
We will explore the spectrum of behaviours from acceptable to unacceptable and discuss the impact of inappropriate behaviour while examining problematic communication, including the fine line with "banter."
Learn what it means to be an Active Bystander, barriers to intervention and strategies for stepping in, using real-life case studies to guide you.
Gain insights into managing relationships while addressing inappropriate behaviours effectively.
Develop relatable strategies, practical tips for intervention and guidance on escalating and reporting concerns or incidents when necessary.
Participants of the Active Bystander Training will learn to identify toxic behaviours, understand what constitutes harassment, and build confidence to intervene effectively and appropriately in challenging situations.
